Renaissance-Inspired Ring in 18ct Gold, Fire Enamel and Antique-Cut Diamond
£1,550.00
Handmade by Gaetano Chiavetta
A contemporary ring inspired by the jewellery of the Renaissance. It is entirely handmade by master goldsmith Gaetano Chiavetta in his Hatton Garden atelier.
At its heart is a square diamond in an antique table cut, faithful to the period that inspired the design. It was cut especially for this ring by our trusted diamond cutter. Four sculpted claws hold the stone, rising from openwork scrolled shoulders striped in black enamel, the way a Renaissance jeweller would have framed a precious stone.
Along the band, fine bands of black fire enamel trace rope and chevron patterns. On each side sits a tiny trefoil in red enamel, a small spark of colour. Every line of enamel is applied and fired by hand, in the traditional technique.
The design is one of Gaetano’s most cherished. Each version is made one at a time, so no two are ever quite the same.
